Hoya Caudata Sumatra

Image
Hello lovelies, Today I am going to talk about my Hoya caudata Sumatra care guide. again, this care guide is for Malaysian, or those in east asia region.  One thing to be note about this hoya is that it is deeply in love with humidity. I left mine in my porch and it has been stagnant ever since i got it. We have been enjoying rainy season for two months now, and on top of that I mist my caudata two-three times daily especially around noon, and water it as soon as the leaf stated to be soft to touch. After several burst peduncle, today is the day my caudata Sumatra giving me inflorescent. and it is the most beautiful flower I've ever seen (I am a proud #plantmom)  Care Guide: 1. Water every 3 days (or when the leaf start to feel flimsy, soft to touch) 2. Mist everyday 3. Slow release fertiliser (orchid fert or osmocote is good, some even using bat-guano) 4. Bright indirect light

Hoya Journey

Good day hoyaholics! I will take you on my hoya journey, which started way back when I got my first Hoya Kerrii, and now I have around 30 IDs.  I will show pictures and my very own care guide based on where I am residing (Malaysia).  I live in a country of tropical rainforest, and my hoyas are kept in my porch so my care guide might not be suitable to some hoyaholics. I could not keep any plants inside because my house is very dark and dry.  I am anticipating some common hoyas in mail.  I can't wait to share them with you. Hoya Kerrii Care Guide

Hoya Kerrii This care guide is related to my country of Origin, Malaysia, Malaysia is in equatorial, and with tropical rainforest.  After a few Hoya Kerrii killing spree I finally read that they do not like too much water. If there is a dryness scale in Hoya world, then this hoya is on the far end. It thrives on neglects, and I only water it when the leaves became wrinkly (around 8 to 11 days).  Regular (green) Kerrii is less finicky that the variegated one. It is also one of the hoya that I always avoid misting. The leaves a bit "rotting" and sometimes dropped with regular misting unless provided with good air circulation.   Only bright indirect light, shaded. too much light may causing sunspots on the leaves.  Conclusion: Rules for Hoya Kerrii 1. Less watering (only when very dry) 2. No Misting, leaves may rot 2. Bright Indirect Light  I have conduct two propagation method: 1. Water propagation: I have problem trying to reduce the s
